چکیده

Injection of human thyroglobulin solution into rabbits gave rise to a transient 19S antibody response which could however be maintained by repeated administration of antigen. When the antigen was coated onto acrylic resin particles, the titre of 19S antibodies was increased nearly 20-fold whereas 7S antibody levels were unchanged. This selective enhancement of 19S antibody synthesis by particulate antigen was also seen using human gamma-globulin. "Intermediate" sedimenting and 7S gamma(1)-antibodies were also increased in animals given particulate antigen. These phenomena may be due to prolonged persistence of the antigen in appropriate macrophages or perhaps to an increased uptake into these cells. The results are discussed in terms of the relationship between 19S and 7S globulin-producing cells.

The Influence of Antibodies on Immunologic Responses

The influence of antibody on antibody formation to particulate antigen was examined in the rabbit with special reference to the importance of immunoglobulin type, the amount and relative proportion of antigen and antibody involved, and the specificity of this influence. 19S as well as 7S antibody was shown to be an effective inhibitor of antibody formation, although there was some evidence that...

The Formation and Properties of Poliovirus-neutralizing Antibody

Rapid formation of poliovirus-neutralizing antibody was observed in the rabbit. 19S type antibody was detectable 8 to 12 hours following a single intravenous virus injection and the induction period was of the order of 4 to 5 hours or less. The production of 7S antibody had a longer lag phase (1(1/2) to 2 days) and it was formed at slower rate. The observed rate of early 19S and 7S antibody for...

Evaluation of effective factors in the optimization of immunization to achieve antibodies against RhD antigen in culture medium

Abstract Background and Objectives Antibody against RhD antigen is important in blood transfusion and clinical medicine. Therefore, in this study, the effective factors in the optimization of in vitro immunization to achieve immunized lymphocytes that produce antibodies were evaluated to obtain antibodies against RhD antigen in the culture medium. Materials and Methods In an experimental study...

THE PRIMARY IMMUNE RESPONSE IN MICE I. THE ENHANCEMENT AND SUPPRESSION 01~ HE~rOLYSIN PRODUCTION BY A BACTERIAL EINDOTOKIN* BY

It is well known that macrophages of the reticuloendothelial system take up antigens before the initiation of the immune response (1) and that injections of bacterial endotoxins first depress and then stimulate the phagocytic activity of these cells (2, 3). In view of these facts, a study has been made of the influence of a Salmonella typhosa endotoxin on the production of specific immunoglobul...

Polyclonal Antibody against Recombinant Nucleoprotein of the Influenza A Virus (H1N1); Production and Purification

Background and Aims: Influenza is an acute respiratory illness that is caused by a virus belonging to Orthomyxoviridae family. This virus spreads rapidly every year in cold season and leads to morbidities and mortalities especially in adults and children, which causes billions of dollars of economic losses. Accordingly, development of a rapid, sensitive and inexpensive laboratory diagnosis base...
